Getting There: This was a couple hour excursion that we decided to take if we had extra time on our first day. Since the flight arrived on time and we made it to our hotel in decent time, we took a trip down to Aqueduct Park. We hopped on the Metro Line A at Termini towards Anagnina. The stop for Aqueduct Park is the 3rd to last stop on the line (Subaugusta), which takes about 30 mins. Once you get off the subway, head southwest on Viale Tito Labieno until you hit Via Lemonia. (Bringing a compass was a VERY helpful thing for us, especially after using underground public transportation which can be quite disorienting.) Turn left on Via Lemonia and take it until you hit the end and the entrance to the park should be on your right. At this point you should be able to see the aqueducts looming in the distance.
What to expect: It is what you'd imagine for a typical park anywhere, there are bicyclists and runners along the trail which runs directly parallel to the aqueducts. There are also people picnicing next to fields of sheep. On the far side of the aqueduct, there is a golf course which is separated from the walking trail by a chainlink fence.
Time Required: After exploring a few more of the aqueduct and sewer line ruins, we headed back to the metro station and headed back to the hotel. The trip down and back took about 2 and a half hours total.
