Hotel Raffaelo
Rating:
Cost: €160/night
Location: On Via Urbana which runs parallel to Via Cavour, halfway in between Metro stops Cavour and Termini on Line B.
Overview: This hotel had good reviews on Trip Advisor and we wanted a hotel that was within walking distance of some of the major sites if public transportation went on strike while we were there (which it did 1 of the 3 days). It is a very well kept, clean hotel that is just off a main road (Via Cavour) so street noise wasn’t much of a problem. We did hear the occasional police siren at night but that had nothing to do with the location. The bathroom was an average size for Europe, but the shower was extremely small. We got a room on the top floor which was a little more hassle to get to with either the small winding stairs or the slow little elevator, but it was away from the street and had a nice patio.
Pros:
- Within walking distance of Termini train station.
- Good breakfast included in price.
- We arrived a couple hours before check-in and our room was ready.
- Concierge was very helpful and knew English. They also let us know that public transportation was on strike one day.
- Had plenty of space in the room.
Cons:
- Shower is super tiny. We had trouble washing our hair because of the lack of arm room.
- Elevator was very extremely small (better than walking up 6 flights of stairs at least).
